Welcome…to the 16th Annual Parade of Homes, brought to you by the members of the Outer Banks Home Builders Association. A select 32 homes, situated from Corolla to Hatteras, including an unprecedented five homes on Roanoke Island, proudly presented by 27 of our builder members, are open for an up-close and personal look at the latest innovations in building products, practices, design and furnishings. Our builder members, their associates and staff, as well as many vendors and local REALTORS® stand ready to assist you with any questions you may have regarding their products. Most of our builders make themselves available in the homes for the entire Parade, and they look forward to speaking with you about your home plans and dreams.
The Parade of Homes is OBHBA’s largest single event each year and our builders and associate members look forward to this venue for showcasing their products – from the raw materials to the finished product. Even as the national media would have us believe otherwise, this is an extremely good time to build or buy. The cost of both labor and building materials has fallen, and home loans for qualified buyers are easily accessible and being offered at competitive rates.
We thank you for coming to visit our beautiful Outer Banks, and hope you will truly enjoy our Parade, the relaxed pace that accompanies our normally glorious fall weather, and that you will find a perfect getaway or retirement home to call your own. In an area with few subdivisions and model homes, our builders often enter homes in the Parade that are not for sale – but rest assured, they are ready and able to duplicate any of these Parade homes for you!
Because the tour is self-guided, you may begin at any of the homes and tour at your own pace from Thursday, October 9 through Sunday, October 12. All Parade homes are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Tickets are available at any of the homes at a cost of $ 10 for all 32 homes. They are good for all four days of the event. A portion of the ticket proceeds supports local affordable housing initiatives and the Outer Banks Home Builders Charitable Fund.
When you have completed your tour, be sure to vote for one home in each category to determine the winners of the People’s Choice Awards. Then leave your ticket at the last home you visit to be entered in the grand prize “thank-you” drawing! And have a safe trip back "home."
