MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

for the

OUTER BANKS HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION

BUILDER MEMBERSHIP – $ 550.00 annual dues

  • Provide a written sponsorship letter from a Builder Member in good standing.
  • Possess and show evidence of an active license to practice General Contracting from the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors.
  • Either be a resident of (for at least one year) of the territory assigned to the jurisdiction of the Outer Banks Home Builders Association by the National Association of Home Builders. OR
  • Be a resident of this territory and be a Builder Member of the National Association of Home Builders through another local association.
  • Agree to attend a minimum of three (3) general membership meetings per year.
  • Agree to abide by the Constitution and By-laws of the Outer Banks Home Builders Association.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP – $ 450.00 annual dues

  • Provide a written sponsorship letter from a Member in good standing.
  • Agree to abide by the Constitution and By-laws of the Outer Banks Home Builders Association.

ALL APPLICANTS SHALL:

  • Submit application and pay initial dues at the OBHBA office.
  • Provide a local credit reference.
  • Complete an orientation program as prescribed by the Board of Directors.
  • Have your application reviewed by the Association’s Executive Officer who shall either approve the application or forward it to the Membership Committee and/or the Board of Directors for their approval.
  • Abide by the stated Code of Ethics as printed and acknowledged by member signature on this application form.

OBHBA CODE of ETHICS:
We, as members of the Outer Banks Home Builders Association, believe and affirm that:

  • Home ownership can and should be within the reach of every American family
  • American homes should be well-designed, well-constructed and well-located in safe and attractive communities
  • American homes should be built under the American free enterprise system

In order to achieve these goals, we pledge allegiance to the following principles, policies, and procedures:

  • To conduct business affairs with professionalism and skill
  • To provide the best housing value possible through the use of quality materials, services and construction backed by integrity
  • To build and renovate homes with high standards of safety, sanitation and livability
  • To comply with all codes and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies for the health, safety and welfare of the community
  • To comply with applicable industry standards as adopted by the Association
  • To provide timely response to items covered under any applicable warranty
  • To seek to resolve business controversies through a non-litigation dispute resolution mechanism
